Smile Success

I successfully captured Emma smiling for the camera. I'm so proud of her for smiling and of myself for catching it on film. She has also started to coo a little bit here and there. I'm looking forward to laughter and giggles, but for now I'm celebrating the smiles. :)

Wake Up!

It is so fun to watch Emma wake up. She wiggles and squirms and pulls funny faces. She is starting to grin a little bit now and that is super fun.

Color Blind

Jon dressed our little angel in this picture. Can you tell? Apparently he thinks pink and purple are the same color. I thought about telling him to change the outfit, but then I thought "who cares". Emma is happy, and I'm happy Jon is so good at helping out.

Friday Date Night

Our date nights have definitely changed since a little one has entered the picture. We played some rounds of patty cake, ate pizza, put Emma to bed early, and played frisbee in the front yard. Don't worry, we had the monitor set up to detect any crying. Oh, and then we played Boggle. It was actually pretty fun.

All Dressed Up

I just have to keep posting pictures of our baby girl. Sorry, you will have to turn your head lopsided to see it, because I haven't been able to flip the picture around yet. Sorry. However, we almost got a smile. We got all dressed up for church. However, we ended up putting on a different outfit, because it was still a little big for her. Her diaper cover, bloomers, whatever you call them were drowning her little body. :) Today was my first day back at church leading the Primary kids (ages 3-12) in the music. They are singing a song next week for our mom's, so we mostly practiced the Mother's Day songs. Jon managed with little Emma for the 2 hours I was in Primary. Way to go Jon! We both came home exhausted. Whatever happened to the day of rest?! :)

Celebrate the 80's Baby!

We celebrated our friends birthday this weekend. It was a blast. Everyone was wearing 80's garb, and nearly everyone participated in karaoke. Jon and I were pretty impressed with ourselves because we were able to pull our outfits together by simply going to our closets. :) We were definitely low key compared to some of the partiers there. Don't you worry though...our pants were pegged.

Tagged

I've been tagged by my sister, Lydia. I'm not sure I like this game, but I will give it a try, just because I love my sister.

Who Do You Love? I love my husband Jon, of course. We have fun together! :)
How Long Have You Been Married? Almost 7 years....Time flies! Our anniversary is actually this month. Happy Anniversary Jon!
Who Said I Love You First? I'm honestly not sure. I do know that we both kind of pretended that we didn't like each for the longest time. I asked him on the first official date, a girls choice dance, and then he asked me out for a 7 Brides for 7 Brothers date a couple of weekends later. I knew he was serious when he brought me flowers...Jon just didn't bring girls flowers. :)
How Long Did You Date? Umm...We can never quite figure out the answer to this question. We met May 1999 and we were friends that school year. We seriously dated the summer of 2000. He proposed February 2001 and we were married May 2001...so I guess that means we knew each other for a couple of years, but we weren't necessarily dating the entire time.
Where Did He Propose? The Sahuaro National Park in Tucson...It was very romantic and quite unexpected. We had traveled to Idaho a couple of weeks earlier and Jon asked for my dad's permission to marry me, and we shopped for wedding rings , so I did know it was coming eventually. However, we were unsuccessful in making a decision on the ring. (I couldn't decide between white gold and yellow gold.) Anyway, we decided to go hiking in the park. Jon hurried and ate his sandwich and all of a sudden wanted to take a picture. I started fiddling with the camera. In the meantime, Jon got on one knee and read a proposal poem to me. Oh, and did I mention that the sun was just starting to set. I was impressed with Jon's boldness in picking the ring for me (it's beautiful), and he really is quite a poet!
Who Is Taller? Jon.
Who Is Smarter? It depends on the subject. Jon impresses me constantly, but there are times when I correct him on his grammar. :)
Who Does The Laundry? Lately, me. I have the time. Sometimes Jon refers to me as the laundry fairy.
Who Pays The Bills? Both of us have taken the job at different times in our marriage. Currently, Jon does it.
Who Mows The Lawn? Both of us...I grew up mowing lawns. I actually enjoy the smell of the fresh cut grass and being outdoors. Call me crazy!
Who Cooks Dinner? Both...Jon and I enjoy cooking together. However, I know both of us appreciate it when we come home and the other person has gone ahead and made dinner. As a sidenote - I wash the dishes, and Jon rinses and dries. :)
Who Drives? Mostly Jon. I love it, especially when we drive in the afternoon. For some reason, that afternoon sun always puts me to sleep.
Who do I tag? My friend, Carley...Enjoy!
