Walk in the Park

My friend, Carley, and I decided to take Jake and Emma for a walk in the park today. (Supervised dating is really recommended you know.) Carley and I talked and walked and Jake and Emma slept. It was perfect! :)

Bright Eyed

Jon and I went to a church party last night. We participated in Hilly Billy Olympics. We had a really great time. I was amazing at the seed spitting contest. (Okay, so I didn't win, but I was the only female competing, and I did spit pretty far.) Oh, and we had an all girls team in the car pushing contest. We came in second. Emma was actually awake during most of the event. We are going to start training for next year. :)

Tummy Time!

Jon is thoroughly enjoying tummy time as you can tell in the picture below. This is part of our efforts to ensure that Emma develops appropriately.

Just Chillin'

Emma is learning to stick out her tongue. Pretty exciting, huh? In this picture I think she and Jon are playing Patty Cake. Let's just say our week nights are a lot different (in a good way) than they used to be. :)

Steady Dating?

Jake and Emma had their second date this week. :) Jake (http://www.hillfamilybuzz.blogspot.com/) slept through most of it, and for the photo shoot Emma kept trying to attack him. I think they are really starting to like each other.

Race for the Cure

Lynn, Jon's mom, was in town this weekend. It was so nice to have her here! Part of our adventures with her in town included participating in Race for the Cure. Lynn has been a part of the event many times before (in other parts of the country), but this was a first for the rest of us (Jon, me, and Emma). There were 17,000 people in the race. I have included a picture of Lynn wearing her survivor shirt holding Emma.

Picture Day!

Yesterday I took Emma out for her first major outing...pictures at JCPenney. It was really fun, and I think we got some great pictures. She just wore a diaper in the professional photo shoots, but we had to get her fancy before we went out on the town.
We had a difficult time keeping the hat on. Oh well!

This is my first bow making attempt. I know, I know...it's HUGE. I guess I can look back though and it will provide perspective on how little Emma is. :)

Daddy's Girl

I know...I have posted a picture of Emma wearing this onesie before, but I couldn't resist playing dress up to see if the jeans fit. What do you think? Yeah, I agree, they're still a little bit big. :)

Bath Time

Isn't she adorable? We have given her a few baths already, but this one we were actually able to capture a few pictures in between screams of delight from our little one. (Yeah, right!)

Happy Monday!

Today is a new week. Emma and I are hanging out at home. Mostly she is sleeping and I'm mostly eating. I can't believe how hungry I am. I probably need to make sure I keep those calories in check though. After all, I haven't gotten back into an exercise routine yet. Maybe next week, but today let's celebrate good food! :)

First Date

This is Jake and Emma's first date. I know it is a little early to date, but can't you see how much they like each other. :) Jake's mom, Carley, and I did water aerobics together all during our pregnancy, so this was their first meeting outside of the womb. Jake is a week and half younger than Emma, but he is catching up quickly in weight. A friend from work gave us the matching outfits.

Picture Attempt

I love the sleeping pictures...

Isn't that a great outfit? I think she really does love her daddy...I mean, how couldn't she? :)

This is my attempt to attach some pictures of our precious little one. Isn't she sweet?

Celebrate good times...

Okay, okay, so I've succumbed to the pressures of starting a blog. It just seems like a great way to keep in touch and stay connected. Naturally, I'm sure there will be a learning curve, but I'm excited to use this site as a way to celebrate the joys of daily living. Our big celebration right now is the fact that our baby girl, Emma, was born! We love her to pieces and think that sleepless nights really aren't so bad. :) I'll try to post some pictures a little later.
